Call upon Me!

One of my favorite verses can be found in Jeremiah...

Call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I have planted this verse deeply in my heart. It is rooted there and gives me a solid foundation during times of turmoil, sadness, frustration, loneliness, grief, fear...

Call upon Me. This affirms to me that He is always there. He hasn't gone anywhere nor is He going anywhere. If there is distance between my heart and His, it is because I put the distance there. He never leaves us.

Come and pray to Me. He is inviting me to come to Him and talk to Him. He wants to hear from me. He is listening. He loves the sound of my voice and is just waiting to hear from me. I don't have to be on my knees. I don't have to be in church. It doesn't have to be before dinner. It shouldn't be just because I want something. He just wants to hear from me... whenever and wherever I am.

I will listen to you. Seriously! The God of all creation is listening to little 'ol insignificant me. That means I'm not insignificant to Him! He desires to hear from me. It's not like He doesn't know what's on my heart. He simply wants me to come to Him and talk to Him... to spend time with Him.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with ALL YOUR HEART. Again, He hasn't gone anywhere. He is there. He is constant. He is solid. Life can get in the way and distract me from recognizing Him in the day to day of my life. I need to seek Him with ALL MY HEART... not a piece of it. He is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Sadly, I am not as constant.

Friends, I pray that you, too, will bury this life-changing promise from God deep in your heart. The Creator of the Universe loves you beyond measure. He longs to hear your sweet voice. He longs for you to seek Him with your whole heart.
