Updates from WELCA

Easter Baskets:

Thank you for the generous donations for the DDS "Easter Baskets." They were greatly appreciated by those receiving the baskets.

Women's Retreat:

"Broken and Beautiful" retreat will take place May 1-3, 2009 at Isle of Palm, South Carolina. Details will be sent shortly to those who are registered.

Mother's Day Flower Mart:

Put this date on your calendar: May 10, 2009.

We will have a beautiful flower mart set up after the 8:30 am service, during the Sunday School hour, and after the 11:00 am service. You will be able to purchase cut flowers for your mother, wife, friend, or any woman who has touched your heart! The flower mart is sponsored by the Women of the ELCA.

Mother and Daughter Tea:

Our annual Mother and Daughter Tea is scheduled for May 17, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Family Life Center. All mothers, daughters, and friends of Spirit of Joy are invited. Please make sure you sign up for this wonderful event. A sign up sheet is located next to the event poster in the narthex. Mother of the Year nomination forms will be located by the Mother and Daughter sign up sheet. Nomination forms must be returned by Monday, May 11th. Ladies... we also need some help with the tea, so please help by volunteering a small about of your time to make this event even bigger this year.

Meeting Change:

The Women of the ELCA monthly meeting has been changed to May 9, 2009 due to the women's retreat.
