How God's Word Provides for Us

This week we talked about prioritizing our time to reflect what is most important to us AND we talked about turning first to God each day. When we start our day with Him, all the other things that we need to do just fall into place. By spending time with Him first, we are also releasing all of our burdens and our schedules to Him. This frees us from the weight of having to control everything! (Don't your shoulders feel lighter just thinking about it?!)

Spending time with God in the morning will fill us in ways we may not even be thinking of. Psalm 119 is a long song that describes the Word of God in every stanza. Cindi McMenamin put together this list :

  • It preserves us so we’re not brought down by sin (verses 9,11)
  • It enlightens us so we’re not dragging (verse 18)
  • It counsels us so we don’t go the wrong way (verse 24)
  • It strengthens us (verse 28)
  • It liberates us so that we truly feel “free” (verses 32,45)
  • It brings us delight (verses 35,111)
  • It focuses us on what matters so we don’t waste our time on worthless, idle pursuits (verse 37)
  • It comforts us in our suffering or exhaustion (verses 50,52)
  • It inspires us and gives us perspective (verse 54)
  • It brings us wisdom, insight, and understanding (verses 98-100, 130)
  • It gives us direction, so we don’t get lost or confused (verse 105)
  • It sustains us and prolongs our hope (verses 116,175)

Friends, if we begin our day reading the Word of God, He will fill us with His peace so that we can face our day with a Godly perspective and without anxiety. AMEN!

Sweet Blessings,
LeAnn
