This morning I had the rare treat of attending part of one of the G.U.Y.S. meetings. As I walked in, a group of men shouted, "Hey, it's a girl?!" before immediately, and without questioning my intrusion, inviting me to join them for breakfast. I was served and then someone even took away my empty plate after I finished! WOW! They really are servants!
As breakfast began to wind down, Dell Schell shared a devotion before starting their meeting. He asked, "Where Have You Seen God Today?" Apparently this is a regular part of their meetings since a few other guys had stories to share. As I listened to their stories, I thought to myself, what a great way to get more intentional about looking for God in our lives. We know that God is always present but sometimes we struggle to see Him in the midst of the chaos and the hectic pace of our day to day lives. There are so many distractions pulling our eyes, our thoughts, and our hearts away from where our focus should be.
So, today I am going to put this on my bathroom mirror:
God, help me to see more of You today.
Starting tomorrow, it will be the first thing I see when I begin my morning routine. Then, each night as I brush my teeth at that same mirror, it will remind me to ask myself, "Where have I seen God today?"
Thanks, G.U.Y.S., for the awesome breakfast and the inspiration! You Rock!
To Think About: Do you recognize God's presence in your day-to-day life? Are you still long enough each day to hear His sweet voice? When you get up in the morning, do you turn first to Him or to CNN? Friends, I admit that I have a really tough time getting through my day without a morning cup of coffee. But... if I don't begin my day with at least a few moments alone with God and His Word, I might as well go back to bed because the day is already lost. The more time we spend with Him, the more we recognize His presence in our lives.
Sweet Blessings,
LeAnn

LeAnn, I love this blog. I would like to respond to each blog entry, but I am unsure what to say...except Thank you for taking the time to share your TID-BITS! They are lovely and entertwined with God-Thoughts! Blessings to you and everyone who reads the wisdom given you from GOD.
