Along the Journey
This morning I tried to come up with some nugget of wisdom to share... something that would scream out, "Joy for the Journey" to get us started with weekly thoughts to guide our path as we journey together. My mind went completely blank (not that unusual) so, of course, I picked up a Bible. (When in doubt... go straight to the instruction manual!) I happened to pick up my NLT translation and randomly opened it. There are "call outs" in this bible, verses that are highlighted in a shaded box on the page, to bring special attention to the verse. As I randomly opened the Bible, the highlighted verse staring up at me was,
"The Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8 (NLT)
How perfect is that?! A big reason that there is so much joy in the journey is because God guides us along the BEST pathway and He walks beside us, advising and watching over us. The pathway may not always be smooth. We will come across dips or pebbles that cause us to loose our footing or deviate from the path He has laid before us. But... God will never leave our side. He is with us every step of they way. If we remain focused on Him, He will carry us over the dips and gently guide us around the pebbles.
To think about: Satan will plant seeds of doubt to distract you from the BEST pathway that God has put before you. He will use worldly distractions to make you stumble. He will take a life situation that you may or may not have control over and feed you lies to make you believe that the obstacles are insurmountable. Remember that no obstacle is too big for God. If you have taken a wrong turn... just turn to Him for re-direction. Use the instruction manual. We're women - we know how to ask for directions!
Blessed to be on this journey with you,
LeAnn
